BLOG: The Hits Keep Coming

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- There are some clouds around, and most temperatures are in the upper-20s to near 30 early Friday morning.  The regional radar mosaic has flurries and light snow associated with a weak trough of low pressure located in central Pennsylvania and across upstate New York.  We're inclined to think that most of this light snow will approach Baltimore some time after 7 or 8 a.m. The intensity will be much LIGHTER than what we had to deal with during the recent coastal storm.

We're going to be keeping tabs on both this low pressure trough, and another weak "clipper" moving out of the Great Lakes and across the Northeast during the next 48 hours. These two disturbances approaching the area from the WEST (and not from the SOUTH) will have much less moisture to work with.

Therefore, snowfall amounts should average a coating to perhaps as much as an inch in both episodes. Beyond tomorrow, the weather pattern looks much quieter, but also somewhat colder on Sunday and Monday, with daytime temperatures no higher than 36 or 38 degrees.

Next week, the G.F.S. and Canadian/GGEM are now coming around more to the recent solutions of the European global model.  They're all hinting that a storm will be forming in the Southeast early next week, and then moving up the coast during the Tuesday night/Wednesday time period. We'll see what that has to offer.
