BLOG: Summerlike Week Ahead
Not bad for Saturday... people didn't disappear, but the rain and clouds did.
Today will be similar to yesterday with a mix of sun and clouds and pleasant temperatures/dew points. Patchy fog is present this morning, but that should burn off fairly quickly with some sun to start the day. A warm front moves in from the west overnight and brings a few showers and thunderstorms back to the area, and this will also keeps things unsettled for Monday as a more unstable air mass follows in its wake. Southwesterly flow aloft will stream moisture northeastward from the Mississippi Valley, and combined with the front and an approaching upper-level trough we will see showers and a few thunderstorms develop once again through afternoon hours.
Tuesday looks to feature more warmth, however, as a cold front pushes into the Ohio Valley with a warm, humid air mass streaming northeastward ahead of it. As you may have guessed by now, showers and thunderstorms will be scattered about once again with a few breaks of sunshine, but it could be worse.
The cold front will slip southward a bit on Wednesday and stall out just to our north, but with the front nearby unsettled weather will continue. We may be a few degrees too warm on Wednesday... we shall see. Model guidance isn't very encouraging in the longer range with regards to dryness, much less ample sunshine.
The best shot for a decent day looks to be Thursday at this point as the stalled boundary tries to slip southward -- if this occurs we may get a temporary reprieve from the onslaught of rain. I wouldn't bet on it though...
Have a good one!
