BLOG: Replay Of Friday

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Beefing things up a little for Saturday to allow for multiple snow showers with a coating to an inch just about anywhere. Higher amounts can occur on the east side of the Bay and also north into York and Lancaster areas. An inverted surface pressure will develop over the region as an upper short wave moves in from the north. Models are showing some enhanced snowfall developing along that trough, especially from Harford, Cecil and Kent Counties north and east north and east into DE, NY and PA. But they also indicate there can be around an inch in the Baltimore area.

The regional radar mosaic early today is showing some snow occurring around Baltimore, which will probably leave behind a coating to an inch in most of your viewing area before it ends by around 7 or 8 a.m. --- and then beyond that, we should be dry for the balance of the day today.

With winds shifting to the west and southwest this afternoon, the sun may actually come out for a while.

The problem we may be confronted with late tonight and especially tomorrow (Saturday) is that an impulse of energy that will be rotating around an upper-level low pressure system in the East could cause yet another "burst of snow", which may bring with it a quick coating to an inch or so.

The 'quieter days' in this whole forecast period appear as if they will be Sunday and Monday.

Then gear up for what may be another round of snow on Tuesday/Tuesday night. Depending upon the timing of this storm, snow could carry over into Wednesday before it ends.

Have a good weekend !!!
