BLOG: New Storm Coming Our Way
The storm from Monday has come and gone, leaving a little snow in parts of the state - particularly south. There was a trace to .1" in Baltimore County and upwards of .5" in Anne Arundel County (Mayo) and D.C. The biggest amounts seem to be in Prince George's County with 1.5", mainly on cars and lawns.
Even though the storm is gone, there are some lingering effects Tuesday morning in the form of fog. Most places are at or above freezing, but some of the more outlying areas have dropped below freezing. If you live in one of these places and come across a fog bank, just go slowly because there is the chance for some ice. However, when the sun takes over, we are warming right back up to the low 50s Tuesday afternoon.
A new storm moves our way starting Wednesday. This is a stronger storm with a few different pieces to it. Clouds will come in first Wednesday, followed by rain later in the day. The rain will continue into early Thursday before moving off to the northeast. Then, the second part of this storm will swing by on Friday with clouds, maybe a few showers, and possibly some mountain snow showers. When this part leaves us, it will open up the gates to the Arctic and flip our weather pattern to colder.
Highs will spike around 50 again Thursday before the colder air starts coming in Friday. By the weekend, highs will be in the upper 30s/near 40 degrees. Just in time for the big game.
