BLOG: Last Sunday In November
Nothing new to report with regard to the forecast as high pressure will continue to be the dominant weather feature for the next couple of days. Dry, seasonably cool weather can be expected today as the surface high builds eastward across the Mid-Atlantic and an upper-level ridge strengthens along the East Coast. Same story for tomorrow as the high slowly shifts eastward to the coast and keeps the low-level cool air locked in. A good bit of sunshine should still be had, however, so overall quite a nice late November day.
Tuesday will see a considerable increase in clouds as a southeasterly flow at the surface draws moisture into the viewing area and by the afternoon a cold front will quickly approach from the west. Rain will break out if in the late afternoon or evening and become steadier/heavier overnight. Wednesday looks like to at least start on a wet note, but by the end of the day we should see some clearing with temperatures falling late in the afternoon. Depending on the timing of the front, we could surge into the upper 50s early in the day before the front clears... we could also be too cool for Tuesday should the rain fail to begin until the evening hours -- but we aren't going to change anything just yet.
Regardless, Thursday and Friday will be brisk and cooler with an upper-level trough taking shape across the Northeast. As stated yesterday, the long range forecast still features significant blocking across the North Atlantic... could the first real wintry storm system of the season be in the works late next weekend or the following week? We shall see... Have a great day!
