BLOG: Last November Weekend

A rather cool weekend is in store across the Mid-Atlantic in the wake of the cold front that rocketed through the region yesterday. Expect a good deal of sunshine with dry air aloft, but with breezy conditions expected it will still feel quite chilly. High pressure will build in from the west this afternoon and overnight, and this will keep things dry right into the beginning of next week.

A gradual warm-up is expected for Monday and Tuesday as upper-level ridging pushes northward along the coast, but by late Tuesday changes will be set to take place once again. A cold front will approach as a deep trough strengthens across the Plains states, and this front will produce considerable cloudiness for Tuesday and rainfall by the late afternoon or evening hours. The rain could become quite heavy late Tuesday night and early Wednesday thanks to an influx in Gulf and Atlantic moisture ahead of the front. This could change, however... it is four days away after-all. Cooler weather and brisk conditions will follow in the wake of this weather system with a return to "normal" for the end of the week. The long range forecast looks to feature blocking across the North Atlantic, and that could spell trouble for us during the following week with the pattern becoming supportive of a significant storm system.
