BLOG: Cooler But Still Mild
A rather benign conclusion to the weekend with a dry northwesterly flow ensuring a good deal of sunshine across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. High pressure will continue to build in from the west and bring slightly cooler air to the region, though this air mass is by no means a cold one.
A weak disturbance will develop to the south along a stalled frontal boundary, and this disturbance will slide across Virginia on Monday with clouds and rain moving into the area. Rain chances in Baltimore itself are about 30 percent, but you don't have to go very far south before rain chances increase substantially (60 percent chance of rain in Salisbury, for example).
Milder air will work back into the area on Tuesday in the wake of a warm front with sunshine returning. Things change once again on Wednesday, however, as the aforementioned upper-level low heads eastward into the Appalachians with moisture pushing northward ahead of this feature. As such, expect clouds to increase during the day with a little rain or drizzle possible... though the bulk of the rain event isn't expected until Wednesday night.
