BLOG: Colder Weather Ahead
The forecast hasn't changed much from yesterday as a cold front slides through the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast this morning with fog and a few showers remaining. Temperatures will not move much today as cooler weather returns to the Tri-State area. Unfortunately, the sun doesn't look to return in any significance today.
In any regard, much colder air returns for the start of the first week of January and some sunshine as well. That said, a clipper system will pass by to our north but will be close enough to generate some cloudiness. Model guidance is in a little better agreement with regard to the late week, but still isn't inspiring much confidence. The degree of blocking across Greenland and northern Canada coupled with several disturbances of very short wavelength spells chaos with regard to details -- so we wont even pretend to know the intricacies of each day. As stated yesterday, we will emphasis what seems fairly likely... temperatures below normal with some clouds, some sun for late in the week and into next weekend with a potential storm system Thursday/Friday.
Stay tuned, and have a great day!
