BLOG: Changes Ahead

Wow, it is warm. Temperatures are already in the mid 60s at noon here in Baltimore, and near 70 degrees in southern Maryland. At the same time, the clouds have come in from the west as a cold front moves across the state. There is a band of rain and showers along the front, but since the front is weakening, the band of showers is breaking apart the farther east it goes. Expect spotty rain and showers this afternoon before that front gets out of here tonight. When it does, the winds are going to pick up out of the west and much cooler air will start moving this way.

There is some really cold, Arctic air over the Northern Plains and Upper Mid-West. That is the air moving our way, but it will moderate before it gets here. Highs tomorrow will be 10-15 degrees lower tomorrow than today. Believe it or not, it will be closer to our average of 53 degrees tomorrow. Then, a new storm comes our way Thursday into Friday. That will knock temperatures down another notch with highs in the 40s on Thanksgiving, near 50 on Friday, then back down into the 40s again on Saturday.

While the next front moves through, it will bring a round of rain with it. Clouds will take over Thursday with some rain or drizzle possible as another warm front swings by. The rain will pick up Thursday night into Friday as the cold front part of the storm comes through Friday. We will dry out for the weekend and eventually temperatures will moderate early next week.
