BLOG: Big Changes

Big changes coming on the temperature front - just in time for the weekend.

Sunshine Wednesday morning will give way to increasing clouds and eventually some rain later. That rain will be heavy at times Wednesday night through Thursday morning before moving away. Thursday will be an interesting day featuring some clearing and temperatures spiking to the upper 50s before clouds return with the next part of this storm. It's the second part that will bring the return of winter.

Gusty northwest winds will usher in some much colder air starting Friday. We will peak in the low 40s before temperatures drop in the afternoon. Those gusty winds will also kick off a lake-effect snow event with snow on the western slopes of western Maryland, and maybe even some snow showers all the way down to the city.

The cold air will overtake the state for this weekend. We will top out in the upper 30s/near 40 degrees both Saturday and Sunday. At the same time, a clipper storm will move our way Sunday - just in time for the Ravens game. Right now it looks like this storm will bring some clouds through, but we will watch to see if it juices up some more and brings us more. So stay tuned...
