BLOG: Beautiful Day
High pressure across the Northeast will keep most areas dry this weekend, and with near average temperatures and a wealth of sunshine it will feel quite pleasant outside. Clouds will only be a factor during the morning hours today with clearing throughout the day, and tomorrow looks great well in advance of a cold front set to arrive late Monday.
Clouds will begin to arrive ahead of the front during the morning hours on Monday, and by the afternoon we may have to contend with a few scattered showers and/or thunderstorms. There is some chance that the surface high and upper-level ridge are a bit stronger and thus able to keep things dry on Monday, but even if that ends up being true the afternoon should still end up fairly cloudy. The front will move into the area Monday night and will stall out somewhere nearby, and depending on the timing of a wave expected to develop along the stalled boundary we could end up with a decent slug of moisture heading into our area from the south/southwest... or it could be mostly dry. For now, we'll just keep the forecast continuity and go with a decent chance of showers in the afternoon.
Rain chances continue on Wednesday with drying and clearing hopefully commencing on Thursday -- though we are uncertain about this as a blocking high develops near Newfoundland and slows things down considerably in the northern latitudes. In any event I wouldn't expect any above average warmth next week.
