BLOG: A New Round Of Heat
Here we go again. A new round of heat and high dewpoints/humidity is on the way.
Monday is our calm day before we get back in on the mid-summer feeling heat. At 2 p.m., we were up to 83 degrees and will only tack a few more degrees on that. Also, the dewpoint/humidity are still fairly low. But a new warm front will swing through tomorrow and change all of that. There will be some clouds moving along with the warm front. Temperatures will start creeping up to near 90 degrees tomorrow before they really jump into the mid/upper 90s Wednesday and Thursday. The record for Wednesday is 97 degrees (1999) and for Thursday is 98 degrees (last tied 1933). We will be close to those records both afternoons. When you factor in the high dewpoints/humidity, the heat index will feel just over 100 degrees.
A new cold front will move our way later Thursday. There is the chance for a late-day thunderstorm Thursday with the approaching front. Those thunderstorm chances go up Friday and Saturday, as it looks like the front will drape itself over the Mid-Atlantic. This will also start bringing our temperatures back down into the 80s.
