Big Things in DC
The Baltimore Orioles are 16-41 on the season. Good for the worst record in baseball. What's more is they reside in the toughest division in all of sports. Here's something that makes it even more frustrating, the Nationals are building something done the road in DC. Last night the Nationals drafted Bryce Harper with the #1 pick in the MLB draft. Harper is the slugging catcher/OF who skipped his last two years of high school, got his GED and went to JUCO so he could be drafted sooner. He's viewed as a "can't miss" slugger. Tonight Stephen Strasburg makes his major league debut for Washington after dominating minor league hitters. Add to that the fact that the Nationals are in a division that isn't as difficult as the AL East and the Nationals will be contenders sooner rather than later. As an Oriole fan I'm kind of jealous.
