Bergesen up, Johnson down, Albers stays

In order to make room for Brad Bergesen on the Major League roster, reliever Jim Johnson was optioned to Triple-A Norfork before the start of Saturday's game against the Red Sox. Matt Albers was out of options so Johnson was the only choice for Dave Trembley given the way Albers has pitched lately.

In his last three appearances, Albers has thrown 3 1/3 innings of scoreless ball and allowed just one hit while striking out two. He also earned his first win of the season in the O's 4-3 win over the Red Sox Friday night.

In that same game vs. Boston, over one inning Johnson allowed three hits and one run -- a solo home run to JD Drew that tied the game at four -- and walked two.
