Bergesen to start Saturday

The Orioles opened a three-game series against the Boston Red Sox today at Camden Yards... it was a beautiful day (80 degrees and sunny) and the stadium was packed with fans of both teams.

Here are some pregame notes from Dave Trembley and the Os:

- Brad Bergesen will start tomorrow against Boston. A roster move will be announced on Saturday.

rrembley said Bergesen has pitched very well and that he got the necessary work in. He also said he has no doubt Bergesen will "return to form."

Trembley said Bergesen was a "nervous wreck" when he was with the big league club and that he overthrew and relied to much on his breaking ball.

- Three things Trembley said the O's need to win games: Quality pitching, good defense and timely hitting.

- Adam Jones will continue to bat leadoff. Trembley says its the best spot for him in the lineup right now because he's learned patience and has stopped chasing pitches. "This made him better," Trembley said. "He learned about himself."
