Baltimore Officer Injured After Patrol Car Strikes Vehicle & Pole, Police Say

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- An officer was injured Wednesday after her patrol car struck a vehicle and a pole before catching fire, authorities said.

The officer was heading north on Athol Avenue about 6:43 p.m. when someone tried to turn left in front of her vehicle at Old Frederick Road, Baltimore Police said.

Police said the officer lost control of her vehicle, which struck another vehicle and a pole and then caught fire.

The officer was taken to an area hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
