Baltimore Mayoral Poll Shows Election Coming Down To Pugh, Dixon
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- There's a new poll showing Baltimore's Democratic mayoral election is coming down to a hotly contested race between two women.
The poll was just released by our media partner, The Baltimore Sun, and the University of Baltimore.
WJZ's Mary Bubala with the results.
At this point, the poll shows Senator Catherine Pugh and former mayor Sheila Dixon fighting it out at the top, and everybody else way behind.
Senator Catherine Pugh has widened her lead to 31 percent, but former mayor Dixon is on her heels at 25 percent.
The rest of the pack has fallen way behind the leaders. Elizabeth Embry at nine percent comes in third, with David Warnock at seven percent and Councilmen Carl Stokes and Nick Mosby trailing at just five percent each.

The poll measured voters who firmly supported their candidate of choice or were leaning towards a particular candidate.
There's now less than three weeks until the primary. With all the candidates trying to woo voters, pollster Steve Raabe tells WJZ every minute counts.
"So the race has shifted a little bit since our last poll in March. Pugh has built a small lead. She's got movement in this race, and she now has a six point lead over Sheila Dixon, said Raabe. "Sheila Dixon is about where she was a month ago. There really isn't a lot of migration towards her, but Catherine Pugh is enjoying late deciders."
"So about a third of the people that have decided in the last week have gone to Catherine Pugh. Forty-five percent of those that decided in the month before that went to Pugh," he added. "So she's benefiting from a little bit of momentum right now."
Of course, on election day, voter turnout may ultimately determine who comes out on top.
Maryland's primary is April 26.
