Baltimore Grand Prix Announces New Sponsors
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Organizers are announcing new sponsors for the Baltimore Grand Prix set for Labor Day weekend.
Baltimore Racing Development announced Thursday that Sunoco, the official fuel of the Indy Racing Series, will be the fuel sponsor for the race, which is part of the series. Other sponsors include GEICO insurance, Transamerica/AEGON, Greenspring Energy, Enoch Office Products and HVM Racing.
The five hotels in and around the downtown race course are hospitality sponsors, but a title sponsor has not been named.
Organizers said they were close to a deal in August and throughout the fall, but that sponsor never materialized.
Organizers say the race will draw as many as 100,000 visitors and generate as much as $70 million in economic impact.
