Baltimore Gets $1.3M Grant For Fire Equipment
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Maryland's senators and a Baltimore-area congressman have announced that Baltimore has received a $1.3 million grant to buy firefighting equipment.
Sens. Barbara Mikulski and Ben Cardin and Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger announced the grant on Wednesday.
The money will be used to buy 310 new self-contained breathing apparatus units for the Baltimore City fire department. The department is currently using units that are more than 12 years old.
