Baltimore Court Convicts Man Of First-Degree Murder For 2010 Killing
BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- The Baltimore City Circuit Court has convicted Antonio Moore of first-degree murder for the 2010 killing of Avon Beasley.
Moore and Beasley got into an argument on June 12, 2010 in front of 209 N. Rose Street in Baltimore. Moore left the scene but returned 20 minutes later on a bicycle and started shooting Beasley with a handgun. Beasley tried to escape by running into an alley but Moore continued shooting him while chasing him on foot.
Police found Beasley at 1:53 a.m. suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest. He died from his injuries at 6:50 a.m. at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Baltimore City police found several witnesses to the shooting who identified Moore.
Moore faces a maximum of life in prison and an additional 25 years. He is scheduled to be sentenced on June 20.
