Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski Asking Property Owners To Plant Trees In Effort To Reduce Greenhouse Gases, Increase Tree Canopy

BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. (WJZ) -- In an effort to reduce greenhouse gases and increase Baltimore County's tree canopy, county executive Johnny Olszewski is calling on property owners to plant more trees.

He says residents can request trees to be planted on their property for free, or they can do it themselves.

Olszewski is also asking everyone to track the trees they plant.

The goal is to have 5,000 new trees ready for Earth Day next year.
