At least 25 evacuated after Amtrak train car catches fire in Baltimore County
At least 25 passengers were evacuated after an Amtrak train car caught fire Thursday in Baltimore County. One passenger suffered minor injuries but refused medical treatment.
The Baltimore County Fire Department said the train car caught fire around 6:30 p.m. while passing through the area of Canberra Drive and Waterview Way in Essex.
Fire officials said the fire was extinguished and the evacuated passengers were moved to unaffected train cars. The train, carrying 189 passengers, continued to its next destination.
No other information was immediately available.
