Artscape Kicks Off In Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- It's that time of year again to celebrate the creative side of Charm City with Artscape.

There are 17 blocks of something for everyone. Artscape prides itself on being more than any one person can handle.

The tents are up, the art is on display and people are out to enjoy it. It is a one-of-a-kind adventure.

TLC hit the stage Friday night.

Crowds packed Charles Street in Mount Royal, enjoying art and dancing the night away.

"We thought this year the theme would be the year we did not have a theme. And we could get back to basics and celebrate what makes art so special," an organizer said.

"Where else can you have ice cream and a banana and be serenaded by wonderful music? And it's free," one man said.

It opens Saturday at 11 a.m. and runs through 9 p.m. On Sunday, it's open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Organizers say people should check the website for the best way to experience the festival.
