ALCS & NLCS Previews
I am not a person who gloats a lot about things when I am right, however I will point out that in the ALDS and NLDS I was 4-0 in my picks. If any of you have seen my NFL picks week after week I have to gloat when I can. So lets not waste any more time here are my predictions for the ALCS and NLCS.
2010 ALCS: New York Yankees vs. Texas Rangers
The Yankees made very easy work of the Minnesota Twins in the first round outscoring the Twins 17-7 in the 3 game sweep. It was the same people for the Yankees delivering in the postseason, Andy Pettitte pitched seven strong in Game 2. While Mariano Rivera had 2 more saves making it an incredible 41 in his playoff career. Even though the Yankees ended the season very mediocre finishing just 13-17 in the final month. But lets not forget this is the Yankees, the defending World Champions no surprise they are here. As for the Rangers what can you say about Cliff Lee that hasn't already been said. In the two games against Tampa, Lee pitched 16 innings striking out 21 and allowing only 2 earned runs. I think it is safe to say Cliff Lee is one of the best playoff pitchers. One thing i saw from Texas was their ability to manufacture runs in the first round. In other words these are not your dad's Rangers of just hitting long balls and nothing else. This should be a great series and im going with the upset.
Prediction--Rangers in 7
2010 NLCS: San Francisco Giants vs. Philadelphia Phillies
If you love pitching and i mean really love pitching then this series was made for you. The two aces that will meet up in Game 1 turned in two of the greatest pitching performances in playoff history. Tim Lincecum in his postseason debut struck out 14 while allowing only 2 hits in his Game 1 win over Atlanta. His counterpart Roy Halladay how did he make his playoff debut, nothing special he just threw only the second no-hitter in playoff history, that's all. Game by game matchup are as follows, Halladay vs. Lincecum, Oswalt vs. Cain, Hamels vs. Sanchez, yea im excitied too. The thing that gives the Phillies a huge edge in this series is their lineup. The Giants hit .235 in the Divisions Series, that is not going to cut it against the Phillies. With guys like Rollins, Howard, Werth and Utley, even with the great pitching of the Giants they should be able to create some scoring opprotunities.
Prediction---Phillies in 6
My Predicted World Series Match Up:
Texas Rangers vs. Philadelphia Phillies
