7 Red Line Stations To Be Affected By Weekend Work

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro says seven red line stations will be affected by weekend track work, with buses replacing trains on a portion of the line.

Metro says the work will begin at 10 p.m. Friday and continue through Sunday. The red line will operate in two sections, from Shady Grove to Dupont Circle and from Glenmont to NoMa-Gallaudet U.

Passengers will not be able to take the red line between Dupont Circle to NoMa-Gallaudet U. Instead, they will have to take a free shuttle bus. Metro says shuttle bus users should add 30 to 50 minutes to their travel time depending on whether they are using an express or local bus.

In addition, trains will single track on portions of the yellow and blue lines, leading to 10 to 15 minute delays.
