3 Worth Watching

It's mid-October and time for the men to start getting some separation from the boys in the NFL. It's a mess right now. The AFC South has all four teams tied at 3-2. Arizona leads the NFC West and they have been outscored by 50 points in five games! And people still bet on this stuff, good luck!  Here are three of the best match-ups in week 6.

Baltimore at New England--

The Ravens aren't intimidated on the road, they've won 3 of their last 4 road games and whipped the Patriots in Foxboro in the playoffs last season. With road wins over the Jets and Steelers already in the bag, a win at New England would give the Ravens a leg up in tie breakers with the cream of the AFC crop.

Randy Moss is catching Brett Favre passes these days but Tom Brady hasn't folded his tent. Brady won all those rings without Moss and the offense is built around him not the guys who catch his passes. How good is he at home? Sunday Bradywill be after his 23rd straight home win just 2 short of Brett Favre's NFL record.

Special teams might decide this game. Former Ravens coach Scott O'Brien is one of the best and his Patriots special teams have been explosive.  Patrick Chung blocked a field goal and punt against the Dolphins and Brandon Tate is tied for the league lead with 2 kick returns for touchdown. New England has won 7 straight coming off a bye, the Ravens hope to wave that streak bye-bye Sunday.

Indianapolis at Washington--

This Sunday night special matches a pair of 3-2 teams. Redskins safety La Ron Landry is the NFC defensive player of the week after a big game against Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. Landry, Brian Orakpo and friends get the ultimate test this week playing football chess with Peyton Manning.

The last time Manning saw the Redskins he passed for 342 yards and 4 TD's, but that was 4 years ago and long before Mike Shanahan and Donovan McNabb showed up in the District.  A chance here for the Skins to make a loud statement that they're ready to play big-boy football.

Atlanta at Philadelphia--

Michael Vick against his former team would have been the story line here, but it looks like the injured Vick will watch Kevin Kolb quarterback the Eagles.  Last December the Eagles blasted the Falcons, it was 34-nothing when the Atlanta finally scored on the last play of the game.

With most of the NFC mired in the mud the Falcons can make a move by going 5-1 with a win. It's homecoming for Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan who attended William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia.

These teams have plenty of home run hitters and the play of 2 young QB's will likely determine this one. Both teams are +7 in turnover ratio. The Eagles are a slight favorite at home.

Bonus coverage--

The Hair on Fire Bowl has Dallas at Minnesota, Vikings beat the 'Boys 34-3 in last year's playoffs. All you need to know about this one, the LOSER will be 1-4 and on life support system.
