2 Charged In Slaying Of Salisbury Woman

SALISBURY, Md. (AP) -- Two 21-year-old men have been charged in the fatal shooting of a 63-year-old woman during a home invasion in Salisbury.

State police say Shawn Franklin and Demarics Banks, both of Salisbury, broke into Barbara Greene's home Friday evening, and one of them shot her. Both are charged with first-degree murder.

Police say Franklin and Banks barged into Greene's home around 6:30 p.m. and encountered her outside her bedroom. Greene died of a single gunshot wound.

Online court records show Franklin was charged in a warrant with burglary, theft and other offenses just eight days before the slaying. He was convicted in June of drug possession. Banks has a criminal record that includes arrests for assault and robbery and convictions for drug possession.
