Marty Bass is live from Sections 84 and 86 at Oriole Park in Camden Yards, otherwise known as "The Birdbath." We found out from one of our guests, bullpen coach Tim Cossins that the team, based on the famous dugout "Homer Hose," thought it would be fun to bring the fans into that vibe. Last year's tryout was such a huge success that the section, in left field next to the Bullpen, was expanded to take in the next section over, sections 84 and 86. What has the attention of every Orioles highlight reel on American TV, "The Birdbath," happened out of a spirit of fun. Totally organic. As it should be! LET'S GO O's!

Marty Bass reunites with Troy Staton. During a robbery at his barber shop on West Baltimore Street Troy was shot and almost died (it was shock trauma that saved his life). When Troy saw the outpouring of concern and help from his neighborhood he had an idea. Simply put why not use barber shops and beauty parlors, natural community centers, as neighborhood resource facilities. Called “More than a shop” his idea has spread well beyond West Baltimore. When WJZ learned about an MTV awards program that would fund a coast-to-coast day of community programs focusing on youth mental health we reached out to Troy Staton, a perfect fit. He applied and was given $10,000 to organize Baltimore’s part of MTV’s Youth Mental Health Day In America on May 15. We are proud to have played a part in what will be an exciting, and important day that will be just the beginning of this important youth outreach. *WJZ and MTV are both a part of Paramount.

Marty Bass is live at Hydes, Maryland in northern Baltimore County, where you will find the Boordy Vineyard. Now 80 years strong it is the “OG” of Maryland wineries. Producing more gallons, and bottles a year than you would imagine, Boordy showed the wine world that climate helps to create good grapes, but the way you grow those grapes is a big part of what goes into the bottle. Always good to catch up with them and it was also our pleasure to help promote an event, at Boordy, the Friday night before Preakness week, that will benefit the Richcroft Inc.
