Porsche split in half in Georgia crash; driver survives with minor injuries

A driver is expected to be ok after a violent crash in Dunwoody that left a Porsche split in half Tuesday night, police said.

Dunwoody police officers responded to the crash on Meadow Lane near Ridgeview Road, where a Porsche slammed into a tree with enough force to tear the vehicle apart.

The department said the driver's seat was the only part of the car that remained intact, but despite the severity of the crash, the driver suffered only minor injuries.

Investigators are still working to determine exactly what happened, but say speed is being considered a primary factor.

The crash initially shut down all lanes in the area as crews worked to clear the wreckage.
