Atlanta based podcast, "Real Mama Pod" becomes its own hot topic

Two best friends of nearly two decades, Devon Grace and Kendra Ferguson, have turned their personal bond into a growing platform for moms.

After meeting nineteen years ago at Florida A&M University, the duo launched the "Real Mama Pod" to explore the miracles and mishaps of motherhood.

"Kendra and I have been best friends for about 19 years now," Devon Grace said. "We got married around the same time, our kids are around the same age."

"We call it the 'Real Mama Pod' because we're authentic, we're ourselves and we don't hold anything back," Grace explained. Kendra Ferguson added that on their platform, "there is nothing we can't discuss."

The podcast tackles difficult subjects, including Ferguson's own experience with loss.

"I had some fertility issues and I experienced miscarriages. I experienced ectopic pregnancies," she shared.

With 134 unique episodes to date, Grace noted that their variety "goes to show you how broad motherhood is; no story is the same."

In a recent episode, the duo interviewed Kamelah Muhammad about her journey with fibroids and egg freezing.

"I desired to be a mom, but at the time it was all about my career," Mouhamad said, describing the process as a deeply emotional journey.

Beyond parenting, the show celebrates "rich aunties", women who aren't mothers but provide consistent support to their friends and loved ones who are mothers.

"Mama's need the rich aunties," Grace laughed.

By sharing these honest journeys, Grace and Ferguson hope more mothers will find peace and pride in their own lives.

"Whatever path is for you, is for you," said Grace, emphasizing the show's non-judgmental approach.
