SEGUIN (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — Some Texas children are praying for the quick return of Blue Bell Ice Cream.

Students at Saint James Catholic School in Seguin took special time out this week to pray for those affected by the deadly Listeria outbreak. The children know their favorite ice cream brand is traveling a rocky road, and that the company had to lay off a lot of moms and dads.

"The Little Creamery" in Brenham recently paid off about 37 percent of its workforce. While officials review the company's procedures, the ice cream will stay off store shelves. Officials at Blue Bell say they're striving hard to make sure they never have another Listeria outbreak.

On Tuesday, an ex-Houston resident who says he contracted listeria-related meningitis after eating Blue Bell sued the company. David Philip Shockley seeks unspecified damages in the negligence lawsuit.
