Fort Worth Man Gets Life Sentence For Slaying

FORT WORTH (AP) - A Fort Worth man has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole in the slaying of a 25-year-old during a 2011 home invasion robbery.

A jury Thursday convicted 23-year-old James Arthur Jones of capital murder. He's one of four suspects arrested in the fatal shooting of 25-year-old Kevan Dunlop, who was playing a video game with friends when the suspects burst into the apartment.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that Dunlop's mother told the jury that her son was a college graduate who planned to attend law school.

Two suspects in the case have already been sentenced, one to life in prison after being convicted of capital murder, the other to 35 years in prison after pleading guilty to murder. A fourth suspect awaits trial.
