DFW Volunteers Helping Colorado Flood Cleanup

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A group of North Texas volunteers left DFW on Monday morning to help support the cleanup efforts in Colorado, after floodwaters devastated the Rocky Mountain state.

Earlier this year, the Texas Baptist Men rolled out to help tornado victims in Oklahoma. Now, at the request of their colleagues in Colorado, they will lead recovery operations in Loveland. They will be forming what are called "mud-out" teams, to help people clean out their homes.

The volunteers will also have trailers in place, so that people can do basic things -- like shower or wash clothes. A command center will run out of a bus that was donated by The Salvation Army.

Texas Baptist Men chaplains will also serve as counselors for anybody in need of emotional support during this difficult time.
