9 Caught In Alleged Crack Cocaine Ring In Terrell

DALLAS (AP) - Nine people have been arrested over an alleged North Texas cocaine distribution ring involving several relatives.

Federal prosecutors say the defendants in the Terrell drug investigation faced initial court appearances Friday in Dallas.

All of the suspects arrested Thursday are from Terrell, located about 30 miles east of Dallas. Each is charged with one count of conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute crack cocaine.

Investigators say four of the nine suspects are related, two sisters, a man identified as their uncle and a son of one of the women. The uncle is also charged with maintaining a drug-involved business.

Terrell police helped with the investigation going back to September when one woman allegedly tried to sell cocaine at a truck stop.
