2 children abducted by biological mother from Lewisville found safe in Oklahoma

LEWISVILLE (CBSNewsTexas.com)  Two children who police said were critically missing Thursday night have been found safe in Oklahoma.

Police said 8-year-old Chantelle Gwivaha and 6-year-old Jason Gwivaha were abducted by their biological mother, Alaina Rudenko, who they say does not have custody.

The children's father said he was waiting for the children to get off their school bus Thursday afternoon, but they never did. Police also say the father wasn't worried about the children being harmed, but there was a cause for concern for both him and police.

In the past, Rudenko has mentioned to friends that she wants to go back to Russia, where she is from. Police believed that the mother wanted to take the children with her to Russia.

Rudenko was arrested around 8:30 a.m. Friday in Wagoner, Oklahoma without incident.

Officials say a driver noticed Rudenko's car broken down in a parking lot and called police for a welfare check. She has been charged with two counts of interference with child custody.

Lewisville police and Child Protective Services are working to bring the children back to Lewisville. Rudenko will be arraigned in Wagoner County before she returns to Lewisville, which could take several days.
