Woman Pedestrian Dies In San Rafael Dump Truck Accident
SAN RAFAEL (CBS SF) -- A pedestrian was struck and killed by a dump truck in downtown San Rafael Thursday afternoon, a San Rafael police lieutenant said.
The incident happened around 1:15 p.m. at Third and Hetherton streets, Lt. Dan Fink said.
Hetherton Street is closed between Third Street and the southbound U.S. Highway 101 on-ramp, and other roads in the area will be closed for an extended period of time, Fink said. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.
Police hope to open the roads by 7 p.m., Fink said.
