Woman Dies After Being Struck Crossing SF Street

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - A woman who was struck by a car at Masonic and Euclid avenues Sunday afternoon in San Francisco has died, according to police.

The victim was crossing Masonic near Euclid Avenue outside of a crosswalk around 5:20 p.m. when she was struck by a vehicle traveling south on Masonic, Sgt. Daryl Fong said.

The victim, a woman in her 20's, was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The driver remained on the scene and was not immediately arrested.

Traffic remained closed for a time in both directions on Masonic between Geary Boulevard and Euclid while the investigation was conducted Sunday.
