Two Injured During Attempted Late Night Robbery In Concord
CONCORD (BCN) -- Two men were injured during an attempted robbery in Concord late Wednesday night, a police corporal said Thursday.
The attack occurred shortly before 11:45 p.m. near the intersection of Clayton Road and Allegro Avenue, Concord police Cpl. James Carroll said.
A group of four suspects approached two 19-year-old men and began punching one of them in the face and head. The other man tried to intervene and was also beaten, Carroll said.
The fight lasted a few minutes until one of the victims escaped and called police.
The other victim had his backpack forcibly removed by the suspects, who searched it but didn't end up taking anything, Carroll said.
Before officers arrived, the suspects fled in a light blue, older model Toyota with a partial license plate number that ends with "115," Carroll said.
The suspects are described as one black male and three Hispanic males, all in their late teens and early 20s, who were wearing dark hooded sweatshirts, he said.
One of the victims had some teeth knocked out during the fight, while the other suffered a wound to his forehead that required stitches.
