Top Ten Things To Ban That's of 'Seattle'

Ralf Moehlenbrock of the Oehlert poultry

Don't think we want this to be an ongoing thing, but as rivalry between the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks escalate, let's bring some banned items to the table. If only for one day.

10) Seattle Music

If you have the urge for some 90's rock, avoid Grunge Music. No Nirvana, Pearl Jam or Soundgarden. Not even Jimmy Hendrix. Stop your friends from rapping Sir-Mix-Alot's "Baby Got Back!"

9) Use of Microsoft Products

Here is a great opportunity to put down technology and watch some good old fashion football. Tweeting and Facebooking is acceptable. Even better on a Apple Device.

8) Wearing Flannel or Anything Plaid

Really? Who still wears plaid as a fashion statement? It's okay if you're in a private school or from Scotland. Flannel, you won't need it in the above normal temperatures of the San Francisco Bay Area.

7) Flying Boeing Airplanes

This might be a stretch and maybe difficult to avoid. But if you're unfortunately flying during game-time, then sadly, you can technically get away with saying you're above California and the rules don't apply. Safe travels fair-weather fan! Check our Gametracker for up to date information on the game.

6) Shopping At Nordstrom

With roots in Seattle, Nordstrom locations are everywhere in the Bay Area. We suggest avoiding buying your 49ers jersey or shirt from here. Not even a Nordstrom Rack. That's like buying real beef from a Taco Bell. Really?

5) Buying Products from Amazon.com

If you are actually shopping online on Sunday, you may not be that big of a sports fan. Then again, if you are, try avoiding Seattle-based Amazon.com. Those flying drones are like a "Seahawks ball," intercepted.

If you absolutely, positively have to watch a movie before the big game, avoid "Seattle" films like "Sleepless In Seattle," "10 Things I Hate About You," "Singles," etc...

Frasier

3) Watching "Seattle" TV Shows

The same goes for shows like "Grey's Anatomy," "Frasier," "iCarly" or "Dark Angel"

2) Seattle Salmon

Here's a good way to watch what you eat or make yourself look silly at a restaurant. Ask or check to see if the salmon you're eating is from the upper Northwest. No lox, no sashimi from Seattle. Go for some "poultry," just like the 49ers. If only for this Sunday.

1) Seattle Coffee

For many, this might be hard to go cold turkey on, but there are alternatives. Avoid (for just one day) Seattle coffee like Starbucks, Seattle's Best Coffee or Tully's. Might we suggest the Bay Area's own Peet's coffee. You just might like it better.
