OAKLAND -- Three people were killed and at least four others wounded Monday in a flurry of unrelated shootings during a violent night on the streets of Oakland, authorities said.

Oakland police said the first deadly shootings took place at 7:45 p.m. Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation for multiple rounds fired in the 3100 block of Telegraph Ave. in the Pill Hill neighborhood.

Upon arrival,  officers located two gunshot victims -- both men, one 27-years-old and a 57-year-old.  The officers and firefighters rendered medical aid, but unfortunately both victims died at the scene. A third victim -- a 19-year-old male -- self-transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

"Through a preliminary investigation, there appears to be multiple shooters in a vehicle that opened fire on a crowd of individuals at two separate establishments in the  3100 block of Telegraph Ave.,"  said Oakland Police spokeswoman Kim Armstead. "At this time we are uncertain of the motive."

The Oakland Police Department (OPD) Media Unit will be holding a news conference today. Deputy Chief James Beere will give an update in the three homicides and multiple shootings from last night.

The victims names were being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin. Multiple shell casings were recovered at the scene. No other information has been released on the suspects or a description of the vehicle.

Less than an hour later, Oakland 911 dispatch got multiple calls reporting a shooting in the 2200 block of E. 20th St. Arriving officers located  a 48-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead on scene. The victim's name was being withheld pending notification to the next-of-kin.

No information has been released on a suspect or suspects or a motive behind the incident.

The deaths were the 88th, 89th and 90th homicides of the year in Oakland.  There were 97 homicides at this time last year.

Anyone with information on either shooter was asked to contact the Homicide Section at (510) 238-3821 or the TIP LINE at (510) 238-7950.

The three homicides weren't the only violent crimes Oakland police encountered. There were four separate shootings also on Monday within a 13-hour span.

Three people, including a 17-year-old girl who was in the hospital battling for her life, were shot along International Boulevard in a six-hour period.

"Additionally, we were investigating an incident close to home as two of our officers were injured by a suspected drunk driver last night," Armstead said. "The officers were providing traffic control in the 3000 block of Telegraph Ave. for the homicide investigation when the collision occurred."

One officer was inside an OPD patrol vehicle and the other officer was standing nearby. They both suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and other charges.
