The Simpsons - 'Bart The General' - Season 1, Episode 5
Grandpa Simpson aids Bart in his war against a school bully and his gang.
Bart stands up for his sister, Lisa, when a school bully smashes her cupcakes. As Bart is fighting it out, the bully's friend, Nelson, tells Bart he will get him after school. Anticipating his certain death, Bart fantasizes about his after school confrontation. Despite trying to reason with Nelson, Bart's fate remains sealed, and he imagines his impending funeral. At 3:15, Bart is beaten up, and Nelson warns Bart to expect the same the following day. Turning to his parents for advise, Bart is told by Homer to fight dirty, while Marge tells him to reason with Nelson. Choosing Homer's advise, Bart is nonetheless beaten up again the next day. This time, he turns to the toughest member of the Simpson family, Grampa Simpson.
Grampa introduces Bart to Herman, a crazed veteran, who runs an army surplus store. After hearing about Bart's predicament, he declares war, and instructs Bart on strategy for a full assault. Bart talks to the other kids at school who have been traumatized by Nelson and enlists them as his troops. After training at boot camp, the troops prepare for their water balloon assault. With Herman commanding from the field, Bart leads his troops into battle. Cornering Nelson and his thugs, they commence firing.
Terrorized by the unrelenting onslaught, the thugs surrender, leaving Nelson to fend for himself. Nelson is taken prisoner, but he promises to kill Bart as soon as he is untied. Later, Herman drafts an armistice, which Bart and Nelson agree to sign. Marge enters with cupcakes, and all is forgiven. Bart recommends that viewers visit their local library for more information regarding the futility of war.
