Tech Report: Best Holiday Gadgets

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) – With Thanksgiving come and gone, that means that the holiday shopping season is in full swing. The questions is, what are the hot gadgets on everyone's shopping list?

Despite the advent of cameras on smartphones, digital cameras, especially high-end models, are expected to be a hot ticket item during the holidays. The cameras on the $199 models of smartphones are in many cases, close to professional quality. But many consumers are looking at digital single lens reflex cameras, which typically start at $650-700 or prosumer compact cameras, which come in both low and high end models.

KCBS Technology Analyst Larry Magid:

Smartphone tablets are also expected to be a big hit this holiday season and not just because of the introduction of the iPad Mini recently. Apple's biggest competitors in the tablet market, Google's Nexus 7 and Amazon's Kindle Fire HD are both expected to see a lot more activity as well, with both offering lower price point's then Apple's model.
