Survivor Of Fiery Bus Crash On I-5 In Northern California Sues FedEx

ORLAND, Glenn County (CBS / AP) -- A survivor of the fiery Northern California school bus crash that killed 10 people is suing FedEx and the owner of the charter bus.

The negligence suit was filed Tuesday in Los Angeles on behalf of Miles Hill.

The 18-year-old Los Angeles teen was at a news conference announcing the suit Wednesday. Hill said he kicked out a window to escape. He suffered a broken collarbone and burns.

Los Angeles-area high schoolers were heading to Humboldt State University for a visit on April 10 when their bus was struck head-on by a FedEx truck on Interstate 5, north of Sacramento.

Hill's suit names FedEx and Silverado Stages. The companies also were sued last month over the death of 17-year-old Jennifer Bonilla.

Messages seeking comment from both companies weren't immediately returned.
