UPDATE: No Devices Found At Fremont High School In Sunnyvale After Bomb Threat Prompts Evacuation
SUNNYVALE (CBS SF) – No devices were found after a bomb threat at Fremont High School in Sunnyvale on Thursday prompted an evacuation of the campus, authorities said.
According to the city's Department of Public Safety, officers responded to the school located at the intersection of Fremont Avenue and Sunnyvale-Saratoga Road around 12:30 p.m.
Students were released from classes for the day as authorities, including K-9 units from the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office and U.S. Coast Guard searched the campus. Shortly before 4 p.m., the department announced that no explosives were found.
"We will continue our investigation into identifying who was responsible for making the bomb threat," Sunnyvale DPS announced in a tweet.
About 2,000 students attend the school, one of five operated by the Fremont Union High School District.
