SF Police Arrest Naked Man Who Allegedly Tried To Break Into Home, Steal Car
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Police arrested a naked man who unsuccessfully attempted to burglarize a home and steal a car in San Francisco's Silver Terrace neighborhood Thursday morning.
At 5:57 a.m., officers responded to a report of an attempted burglary happening in the 100 block of Boutwell Street, according to police.
A 69-year-old woman told police she was inside her home when she and her caretaker heard a loud noise. When the caretaker went to look outside, the caretaker saw that the naked suspect had broken one of the home's windows in an attempt to get inside, police said.
The suspect was apparently startled at the sight of the caretaker and fled.
A few houses down, a 56-year-old woman was removing some items from her car, which was parked in her driveway.
The suspect approached the woman and began yelling at her, according to police.
He then pushed her aside and hopped into the driver's seat and tried to start the car. The victim however had the keys.
When officers arrived, they found the suspect, identified as 29-year-old Edward Barron, still inside the vehicle, police said.
Barron was arrested on suspicion of burglary and carjacking, as well as for having three outstanding warrants, according to police.
