San Rafael Man Pleads Guilty To Shooting At Judge's Home
NOVATO (AP) ― A San Rafael man is facing five years behind bars after pleading guilty to shooting at the home of a Marin County judge he blamed for his financial ruin.
Ryker Schenck, 49, entered the guilty plea to one count of shooting at an inhabited dwelling as part of a deal that dropped several misdemeanor charges.
Prosecutors said Schenk will be sentenced to five years in state prison on March 3.
Police said Schenck drove by Commissioner Randolph Heubach's home on Dec. 10 and opened fire. Neither the judge nor his wife was injured although both were at home at the time.
Schenck is suing Heubach, claiming the judge caused him financial harm by wrongly including Schenk's general contracting business in a lawsuit against another contractor.
