San Jose Firefighters Rescue Unconscious Man Trapped Inside Burning House

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- An unconscious man was rescued from a burning single-family home in San Jose Saturday night, a fire captain said.

The fire was first reported at 8:33 p.m. in the 1400 block of Mt. Diablo Drive. Firefighters carried the man out, resuscitated him and he was taken to a local trauma center, San Jose fire Capt. Mike Van Elgort said.

The fire initially went to a second alarm, but firefighters canceled that once they knocked down the fire. Crews held the fire to the one home.
