San Francisco Set To Roll Out Varied Parking Meter Rates
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) – Parking meter rates are once again being adjusted as the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency works through its SFpark's pilot program.
The program involves 8,000 meters in eight pilot neighborhoods, covering well-traveled areas such as City Hall, Fisherman's Wharf, the Marina District, Embarcadero and Mission Street.

San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency spokesman Paul Rose said two-thirds of the rates are actually going down or staying the same.
"Downtown, we're seeing more people parking there throughout the day so parking traditionally has gone up 25 cents for each of these adjustments," said Rose. "People might see $4 rates in those areas."
Rates around Civic Center are going down for the second time in two months, down from $3.25 an hour to $2.25. Rose said the main focus is to ease congestion, prevent double parking and to keep Muni moving.
The hourly SFpark meter rate ranges from $1.25 to $4 an hour. The full implementation is expected later this month.
