Sacramento County Sheriff's Deputy Accused Of Sex With Minor Appears In Court
FOLSOM (AP) -- A 45-year-old Sacramento County sheriff's deputy arrested for allegedly having sex with a 16-year-old boy has appeared in court.
The Sacramento Bee reported that during an arraignment on Thursday a judge ordered Shauna Bishop to have no further contact with the teen. Bishop was ordered to return to court July 24. A lawyer for Bishop couldn't be reached for comment.
The newspaper cites court documents that show the boy is the son of another deputy.
Bishop turned herself into Folsom police last week. She was booked and later released.
An investigation began in May and authorities had obtained an arrest warrant.
The Bee cited court records as saying the victim is the son of a deputy who Bishop formerly dated. The report said prosecutors believe she went into the boy's room while staying with his mother to have sex with him.
Bishop faces charges including having sex with a minor, oral copulation with a minor and misdemeanor annoyance of a child.
Bishop is a five-year veteran of the Sheriff's Office.
