Ponderosa Fire In Butte County Grows To 600 Acres

BUTTE COUNTY (CBS SF) -- A wildfire burning out of control about 16 miles east of Oroville has forced some evacuations Tuesday evening.

Several structures have been burned by the Ponderosa Fire buring near Ponderosa Way and Lumpkin Road in Butte County. Evacuations are being ordered for the community of feather falls.

Crews are on the ground and in the air, working to put out the flames.

Cal Fire estimates the fire now covers 600 acres.
